WebP to JPG: what’s different

WebP works well on websites, but an older editing app or a particular upload form may require JPG. Export a copy for that destination and keep the original WebP for your site.

Animated WebP becomes a single still frame in this converter. JPG also removes transparency, so inspect the result on the intended background.

What works

  • Use a background colour that matches your document or website.
  • Do not expect converting a compressed WebP to restore missing detail.
  • Keep the original animation separately if motion is important.

How to use it

  1. 1.Drop your images or try the sample photograph.
  2. 2.Choose the output format, quality, longest edge and background settings.
  3. 3.Download individual images or the complete batch as a zip.

Questions

Can it preserve animated WebP?

No. This conversion produces a still image from the first frame.

Will the output have a .jpg extension?

Yes. The output is encoded as JPEG and named .jpg; the tool checks the encoder MIME type.

Why are transparent areas filled?

JPG has no alpha channel. Choose a suitable background colour before exporting.
